Little Northern Books is a small publishing business formed in 2008. It aims to publish good quality, accessible work on the history, culture and politics of the North of England, with an emphasis on Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Little Northern Books is owned by Paul Salveson. Paul has a PhD in Lancashire Dialect Literature from the University of Salford and has written several books on aspects of northern history.
Little Northern Books wants to get away from the notion that local history is non-controversial. It should be as challenging and awkward as any other history. Little Northern Books is radical, regionalist but unsentimental. There is no ‘golden age’ of Northern history – but there is plenty to celebrate in our past.
